The Communion Table

The Communion Table was commissioned in 1990 by a church family in memory of the husband's mother.

The table is constructed of ash and walnut woods, complementing the style and appearance of the pulpit.

Its supporting structure suggests the dark beams of the church's sanctuary ceiling architecture.

The four edges highlight, both scripturally and pictorially, the bread and cup communion elements:

  • "The Bread of God Gives Life to the World", coupled with carvings of sheaves of wheat
  • "Whoever Believes in Me Will Never Thirst", coupled with carvings of grape clusters
