The Children's Tree was created in the mid 90s by CBC member Jeff Carroll. A worship committee at the time requested a wall hanging for use at the upcoming Easter season that would represent new life. Jeff came up with the idea of using traced images of the children in his Jr. High class.
He purchased several sheets of different color plywood, and for a number of weeks, traced, cut out and assembled the kids' images. The resulting Tree was so stunning and meaningful that the church decided to display it permanently on the west wall of the sanctuary.
The kids whose images are captured are all grown up now, and most are in college. In fact, the young lady representing the trunk of the tree is now a married woman.
